A phoenix rises from the ashes

Fontana is a Brazilian Swedish Drag Queen who was Runner Up on Season 1 of Drag Race Svierge (Sweden). She was then cast for an international all stars competition Drag Race UK vs The World. Fontana went through many trials and tribulations between her first season and being cast again, including deportation, and felt that this opportunity was an opportunity for her to rise from the ashes of so much hardship.

This look is both an homage to the Carnival costumes of her home country, and wanting the next evolution of her original entrance look. Wilberth Gonzalez designed this Phoenix-inspired ensemble. Wings by Lucia Briones, Bodysuit and feather bursts by Tommy Heidebrecht

The sequin fabric for the bodysuit was custom printed and engineered to the pattern pieces. The dye-sublimation printing on non-stretch sequins resulted in a high fidelity recreation of the grpahics from the original sketch. Beaded appliqués and rhinestones were added for additional sparkle, and iridescent feather bursts hid the harness of the wings and accentuated the hips.
